Pole Lap — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Pole Lap ("the app") handles. The app is published by Yabin Alejandro Lagunes Cuevas, trading as The Alchemist Code ("we"), who is responsible for your data. Contact: contact@thealchemistcode.org.
The short version
- There is no account. We never ask for your name, email or password.
- Your settings and alerts are stored only on your device. We do not upload them anywhere.
- Reminders are scheduled on your phone. No server sends them.
- The app does not use your location, camera, photos or contacts.
- The app shows ads and uses analytics and crash reporting. Those services, run by Google, collect some technical data, described below.
Data stored on your device
Your settings (time zone display, spoiler-free mode and which sessions you want alerts for), the race data the app last downloaded (so it works without signal) and the session list the home-screen widget shows. They stay on your phone.
- Android backup: if backup to your Google account is turned on in your phone's settings, Android may include the app's data in your device backup so it comes back when you move to a new phone. Android makes that backup and stores it encrypted in your Google account. We have no access to it.
You can erase everything at any time in Settings › Delete all my data. Uninstalling the app also removes it from the phone.
Sports data from our server
To show race weekend schedules, results and standings, the app downloads them from our own server, sports.alekla.com. The app only asks
for public sports data (for example, a season's schedule); it sends no account, no device or app
identifier and no cookies. Like any web server, our hosting provider records the IP address, the
time and the request in its access logs, kept by the hosting provider and used only to run and
protect the service. Our server itself keeps no record of who asked for what, and no data about
you is sent to the sports data provider: our server asks it only for public results with its own
key.
Data collected by third-party services

None of these services receives your settings or alerts. All of this data is encrypted in transit. Each provider handles it under its own privacy policy:

Your choices
- Ad personalization (EEA, UK, Switzerland): the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads, and you can change your choice anytime in Settings › Ad privacy options.
- Advertising ID: you can reset or delete it in your Android settings under Privacy › Ads.
- Notifications: alerts before each session are optional. You can deny the permission and still see the schedule inside the app, or revoke it anytime in Android settings.
- Premium removes all ads.
Your rights
You can ask us about your data or to delete it by writing to contact@thealchemistcode.org. Because the app has no account and your data stays on your phone, we hold nothing that identifies you; deleting your data in the app removes it for good.

Pole Lap is an unofficial app and is not associated in any way with the Formula 1 companies. F1, FORMULA ONE, FORMULA 1, FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, GRAND PRIX and related marks are trade marks of Formula One Licensing B.V.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
